Does Wesley Die on 'The Rookie' After His Run-In With a Prisoner? (SPOILERS)

The Nov. Three episode of The Rookie was chock-full of twists and turns, leaving fans on the edge of their seats when it came to the fate of a couple of cherished characters.

One of the other people audience have been most anxious about in the back half of the hour-long crime drama used to be Wesley Evers, who were stabbed during an attempted jailbreak at the courthouse.

Thankfully, the protection lawyer is going to be ok, which came as a huge reduction to Lopez and the rest of the squad. But how did Wesley find himself stabbed in the first position?

At the starting of the episode, titled "Fallout," Los Angeles went into complete panic mode after an alert caution residents that a ballistic missile was once headed in opposition to the town started popping up on everybody’s telephones. 

Wesley, who used to be at the courthouse for an ordeal, were given trapped with Nolan and Jessica within the building, which reportedly has no bomb refuge. The trio and a handful of other people headed down to the underground conserving cells, but have been told through the prisoners that the area was once unsafe because of a leak. 

Worried that he was going to die, Wesley borrowed Nolan’s radio in order that he could inform Lopez he cherished her earlier than the alleged missile hit. The Rookie isn't any stranger to killing off main characters.

You can never be too careful with this show given what the writers pulled in Season 1. In Episode 16, fans were blindsided by means of the loss of life of Captain Zoe Andersen, who was killed in the line of accountability by way of a man disenchanted over his female friend’s arrest.

Showrunner Alexi Hawley defined at the time that he didn’t to begin with intend to have Zoe die in the collection. "We went back and forth about it in the writers' room. But it ultimately felt like the most dramatic and powerful way to impact our story," he shared on Twitter.

"It definitely has an impact on how [Nolan] sees and does the job," he added of Zoe’s homicide. "If anything, he feels a greater responsibility to succeed to honor her memory, and the faith she placed in him."
