'Pokémon Gold' and 'Silver' came about in the Johto region, but could we be getting a remake for the Switch quickly?

The Nintendo Switch already has a couple of Pokémon remakes for its roster of games, together with the first-gen remakes Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Is there a Gen. II remake of 'Gold' and 'Silver' coming to the Nintendo Switch?

For months now rumors had been swirling that some other remake will hit the Nintendo Switch sooner than the next model launches in either late 2024 or early 2025, with the 1999 Game Boy games Gold and Silver being the intended contenders.

For those who had been enthusiasts of the Pokémon games for years, you'll understand that the 2d technology video games, happening in the fictional area dubbed Johto, already got a remake for the Nintendo DS console.
