'Moesha' Never Addressed This Major Plot Point — but Fans Have Their Theories

The hit ‘90s sitcom Moesha is seeing a resurgence because of its new house on Netflix, the place all six seasons of the show became available on Aug. 1.

The collection follows teenager Moesha (performed by means of Brandy Norwood) and her family, which incorporates dad Frank and stepmother Dee, as they navigate real social problems akin to race family members, drug use, and sex. But one subject that the dramedy glosses over is the death of Moesha’s mom, Marguerite.

Despite her fond recollections from the set, Brandy confessed that she has yet to revisit Moesha along with her 18-year-old daughter, Sy'rai Iman Smith. "Of course, she's aware of it. What I love about us is I'm just her mom and that keeps me grounded," the singer explained in an interview with People.

"It's all about her now. It's all about what she's here to accomplish and do and I'm just here to support her in that."
