The superhero series The Flash is in response to the DC Comics character Barry Allen (aka The Flash). The display, based in Central City, follows the superhero crime-fighter who beneficial properties superhuman velocity after an explosion at S.T.A.R Labs. The Flash series begins with Barry Allen pursuing his mother's assassin, and is going on to introduce villains similar to Zoom, Savitar, and Eva (Mirror Master).
The Flash is a by-product of Arrow and part of the Arrowverse universe, which additionally includes Supergirl and Black Lightning.
