The Netflix thriller The Guilty gives a layered narrative. The central plot tracks an obvious kidnapping case that demoted LAPD officer Joe Baylor works to unravel from his desk at a 911 name heart. The subplot, alternatively, follows an incident that has Jake Gyllenhaal's personality facing legal penalties.
