Windsor Johnston was once a prominent NPR reporter by the point she got married.

According to her professional NPR bio, Windsor Johnston has been a newscast anchor for the outlet since 2011, which is also the 12 months she got married to Bob Edwards. She's recognized for turning in hourly newscasts and has in the past won praise for her protection of Election Night 2016 and other primary US information events. Throughout her a long time within the business, she also worked for a number of other NPR member stations.

Windsor Johnston reported that Bob Edwards had died on Feb. 10, 2024, from a bout with metastatic bladder most cancers and "a heart ailment".

Windsor later took to Facebook to specific her grief and phrases of gratitude to each Bob and family members offering their condolences.

She wrote, "The world of broadcasting has lost a behemoth. Bob was an absolute master at his skill and left an indelible mark on the field of journalism. He was a stickler for even the tiniest of details and lived by the philosophy that 'less is more.' He helped paved the way for the younger generation of journalists who continue to make NPR what it is today.

Speaking on their marriage, Windsor posted, "Bob was once absolutely the love of my lifestyles. He was once an especially loving and supporting spouse, not to point out my biggest admirer. He and I have been together for 14 years and only recently celebrated 12 years of marriage. It's unbearable to think of a life without him, however until we meet once more, I'll proceed to concentrate for that lovely voice in my ear wishing me good fortune and telling me to 'spoil a lip.'"
