In Season 2, Curtiss Cook joined the cast of The Chi — where he stars as Otis “Douda” Perry. When we first met the infamous gangster, he was a boulevard pharmacist with not anything to lose. Since then, he’s taken up the mantle of the mayor of Chicago. In the method, he made quite a lot of enemies.

His reign of terror reputedly came to end in the Season Four finale, when he used to be exiled from the town and informed by no means to go back. But laws are made to be broken, and if somebody is aware of this, it’s Douda.
In an unique interview with Distractify, Curtiss teased his persona’s comeback and hinted at what’s to come for the solid in Season 5. Read on for main points!

Who is Otis “Douda” Perry on ‘The Chi’? His connection to Trig and Jake, explained.
Douda began a battle together with his on-screen nemesis — Trig (performed by Luke James) — the day he murdered his brother, Reg. Douda then took custody of Reg and Trig’s youngest sibling, Jake.
He later relinquished his rights as Jake’s followed father, however, his pork with Trig didn’t end there. When Trig threatened the mayor with blackmail, Douda was forced to succumb to his calls for and renounce.
However, Curtiss confirmed that his persona’s story is a ways from over — in fact, the drama has only begun. “I think the mayor thing, for Douda, how it ended and how it all went down — it was a failure for him. And I do not believe he offers with failure properly,” the actor informed Distractify.
Following his fall from grace, Douda returns with a vengeance in the Season 5 premiere. “And he’s got one thing to turn out,” Curtiss added.

It’s protected to say no one is throwing a parade to celebrate his homecoming, particularly not Jake and Trig. Their courting has been rocky at best possible. But may just they finally in finding common ground in Season 5? Curtiss thinks so.
“It's one thing stunning about seeing a well-seasoned man walk thru that area and feature a reference to the younger generation,” he mentioned. However, he defined, “Sometimes younger men are headstrong.”

The actor persisted, “You cannot just talk it to them. You have to roughly snatch them up and say, ‘Listen to me, this is in your well-being. This is no longer amusing and games. There's a greater path for you, there's something bigger for you.’”

In May, shops showed that Jasmine Davis — who plays Luke’s on-screen love passion, Imani — used to be leaving the display. While fans are unhappy to see her cross, Curtiss assured enthusiasts that several other fan favorites are returning for Season 5.
“Iman [Shumpert] is coming back. Kandi [Burruss] Is coming again. Lala [Anthony] is coming again,” he printed. In addition, the collection takes a deep dive into Rashaad's backstory.

He added, “You know, I'm really thinking about Rashaad — Jason Weaver’s persona — this season. I really liked that adventure. I believe the fans and the folks which might be staring at are going to be truly well stunned.”
According to Curtiss, audience may also be introduced to two new solid members in Season 5 — one in all which is Douda’s god-niece. “That's gonna be attention-grabbing to see how similar to Douda she is and what sort of not like Douda she is,” he teased.
So, could Douda have in any case met his match? “Come on, you know there’s no match for Douda,” Curtiss mentioned with a laugh.
