Anna Faris Leaving 'Mom' Was a Surprise to Fans and Showrunners

Television presentations on traditional networks have to compete with the new powerhouses in television — streaming services and products. Now that now we have been offered to the world of binging a complete season in one sitting and staring at at any time, a display has to be extra special to get us to watch on someone else's timeline. That's what makes CBS's Mom so particular. It's one of the most best presentations and has been since its debut — but it's had a huge hit. Why did Anna Faris leave Mom? Here's what we know.

Why did Anna Faris leave 'Mom' so unexpectedly?

It got here as a surprise to everybody when Anna Faris introduced that she used to be going to be leaving the CBS show Mom after being one of the primary stars of the show for the previous seven years. Just sooner than Season Eight used to be set to resume production at the upcoming season, Anna shared that she would not be returning to play her personality, Christy Plunkett, a unmarried mom who struggles with alcoholism and has an interesting dating together with her personal mom.

In September 2020, Anna shared that she would not be returning to Mom for the following season in a press free up, CNN reported. 

"The past seven years on Mom have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career," Anna mentioned in her observation. "I'm so thankful to [creator] Chuck [Lorre], the writers, and my amazing castmates for creating a truly wonderful work experience."

Warner Bros., which produces the display along side Chuck Lorre Productions, issued a commentary addressing Anna's go out as smartly. 

"From the inception of Mom, Anna was the first and only choice for the role of Christy. We are so proud of the stories we have been able to tell during Anna's seven years with us," the observation learn. "We wish Anna all the best, and we thank her for her beautiful portrayal."

A source close to the display instructed People that Anna's determination to leave the show was once a marvel to the showrunners who had no concept she was making plans her departure.

"It was a surprise to hear that Anna was leaving," the nameless source stated. "None of us are happy about that. It was sudden and unwelcome, and it left the entire network scrambling. This is not a good thing at all." 

"Mom has been one of CBS' more profitable scripted shows, in a very challenging economic time," the source explains. "And now one of the leads is gone. It’s actually a nightmare. No one wanted this."

On Nov. 2, Allison Janney, Anna's co-star on Mom, spoke concerning the upcoming 8th season of the display and how it will be different without Anna. 

"It's a huge loss for the show to not have Anna because she was part of creating a character, Christy, that everyone fell in love with, who was so lovable and warm and gullible and funny and we will miss her so much," she informed Entertainment Tonight. 

"I think I'll miss the most, for me, the relationship between Bonnie and Christy, even though that will still continue. But she won't be present. That's what I'll miss," Allison added.

Anna hasn't stated anything else particular about what her plans at the moment are that she's now not filming the next season, so stay tuned.
